Thanks for the update, Drew.

I'm sure Harris Teeter has trashed every single thing. It's not hard to sterilize a concrete floor. I'll be back. It's easily the most convenient store for me besides the Monroe Ave. Giant.

Big deal. It's not like we'll be buying food directly off a bare floor. It will be exponentially cleaner than any Giant.

The sooner the better! We miss our Harris Teeter!

Glad to see they are taking all necessary precautions - Can't wait until it opens back up a brand new shiny store!

I look forward to this reopening! They have removed everything, and the floor would have to be replaced as well. Based on their clean up efforts - I will be shopping there once again and look forward to seeing all of their amazing staff!

Sooner the better HT

It would be nice if they at least gave a BALLPARK estimate of when they plan to reopen. They have LOST lots of business from me, as I simply have NO wish to drive to the other locations all of which are either too far from me or have terrible parking situations. I use to go to the HT on S. Glebe (1 block from my house) at least twice a week...now I've only been to an HT ONE TIME in the past 3 months.

I'll be happy when it reopens. Have been going to the one on Duke St. and HT keeps sending us $10 coupons as a courtesy. They beat Giant and Safeway hands-down (and no, I do not work for HT).

Its now almost October and still now word. I have heard from several folks the store will not reopen because of a contract dispute with the Landlord. That would really stink for everyone at the Camden and the Eclipse (the Landlord) perhaps they should fire their property manager since clearly the can't seem to get businesses to stay in their building. You would think they would want the store their for their propety values and the convience of their residents.

I'm really quite ready for HT at P-yard to reopen. I much prefer it to the other HT's - Pentagon Row is too impersonal and the staff is unfriendly - Shirlington is way to small and awkwardly laid out. I never thought I'd miss my local HT this much!!! They've stopped sending the "$10 off $25" coupons, so I went to web in hopes of learning they would soon be reopening. Seems that isn't the case.

I get HT coupons on line - sale brochure plus seafood specials - for VIC card holders - weekly.

The coupons stopped coming for me as well...and with NO updates and almost 6 months passed, I think it's safe to say it's NOT reopening. HT makes enough MONEY that if they wanted to reopen that store, they would have and could have by now. I lived in this area when that HT was BUILT...and it look LESS than 6 months for them to build it from scratch....so if they haven't REPAIRED it in that time, then they don't PLAN to. Face it people....it's GONE.

The other locations in the area SUCK for me...in terms of quality and/or distance and parking situations. Perhaps the WORST one I've seen in terms of the parking is the HT on Duke Street (Foxchase) where the parking lot is very awkward, congested, and just a complete MESS...who in the WORLD designed that parking lot? If the HT at Potomac Yard is NOT re-opening, I think they've just lost my business...I love HT, but not ENOUGH to drive longer distances or put up with unnecessary parking aggravations

Just last week a clerk at the Pentagon City HT told me P-Yard HT would be reopening in May 2013. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she knew what she was talking about.

Well, first they said it was reopening in a "few weeks" after the flood, then they said 5 months, then they said January of 2013, and now May of 2013? Anybody that still believes this place is going to reopen is very gullible. A few days ago when I went past that location, all of the windows were covered with blankets or sheets, all lights off, and I see NO signs of anybody performing any work on the place. Harris Teeter has simply LOST my business because the other locations in the area simply don't work for me: While their food selection is good, it's not good enough to make me drive miles away vs. 1 block down and across the street.

Just face it, It's NOT reopening.

Here's a theory: HT is covered by insurance for both loss to the inventory as well as loss to business during suspended operations. Until the water company has made changes in their system to ensure this never happens again, HT keeps collecting checks from the insurance company... and the insurance company won't let them open. Free money for HT like the place was open, with no risk. They are in no rush... Don't complain about HT. They didn't flood the place with sewage, the water company did.

I'm absolutely floored that anybody is eager to purchase food from a place that was, literally, flooded with thousands and thousands of gallons of feces, urine, used female sanitation products, used condoms and all other sorts of nastiness.
