Update: No Injuries Reported in Two-Alarm Fire
A two-alarm fire has damaged a townhouse in the 700 block of N. Fayette St.
Update — The cause of the two-alarm fire that started on N. Fayette Street this evening is under investigation, according to a Fire Department spokesman.
Everyone did get out of the residence, said spokesman Brian Hricik, or at least no one was in the house when the fire fighters arrived on the scene.
Hricik said the fire appears to have started in a third-story bedroom.
Streets were reopened by 8:30 p.m., kids were playing in the alley again and fire marshals were cleaning up. The 700 block is across the street from the Wythe St. Post Office.
