Duncan Library Welcomes New Manager

Stephanie Clark says she wants to showcase and build branch's adult programs.

Duncan Library welcomed its new branch manager and said farewell to a longtime staff member at a reception on Monday night.

Stephanie Clark joined Duncan as its new branch manager on Jan. 7. A resident of the city’s Carlyle neighborhood, Clark had previously worked at Georgetown University’s Lauinger Library.

“I really wanted to get back to a public library,” Clark said. “This is a great little branch; very vibrant.”

Clark said the library has a very strong and popular selection of children’s programs, thanks in large part to outgoing acting branch manager Kyle Maier. After hiring a new children’s program director, Clark said she wanted to get to work showcasing and building Duncan’s adult programs.

“The first three weeks have been great,” Clark said. “I’m looking forward to a long tenure.”

Maier is ending her long tenure at Duncan to become the branch manager at Alexandria’s Ellen Coolidge Burke Library on Seminary Road.

Monday’s reception was hosted by the Friends of Duncan Library. Check out the group’s website and Facebook page.
