What's up with Executive Avenue? They must be vying to be part of a new trolley route #7! Keep it up, guys. This area is getting so "vibrant."

Apparently Autoexec.bat is not familiar with a record of assaults, vehicle break ins and other crime activities on Executive Avenue. The immediate community is and has fought for better policing efforts to combat crime against vulnerable (mostly) minority citizens. Your quip re: vibrant is uncalled for given the many efforts by her residents to improve Arlandria's standing as a desirable place to live and visit.

Can you outline steps that residents have taken specifically? Who is doing the breaking in and the assaulting? People from Arlandria, Del Ray, or elsewhere? Do residents know the perpetrators and if so, are they assisting police? Personally, I see no improvement, just a steady and predictable stream of theft, burglary, larceny and assault not seen in such concentrations anywhere else in the city.
As to my "quip" residents use the word "vibrant" to describe Arlandria, why can't I?

Why is there no report of the stabbing of two teens that happened Saturday night?

According to crimereports.com, which is where Carolyn gets the information for these Del Ray-area crime reports, there was an assault with a deadly weapon that was reported around 10:45 p.m. Saturday night in Lincolnia at the corner N. Armistead Street and Quantrell Avenue. The Alexandria Police Department provided no narrative of the event other than to say the case is open.
The crime reports we publish on Del Ray Patch cover a geographic area in and around Del Ray. We normally don't include incidents west of King Street. This assault occurred in an area outside of our coverage area and, with no narrative, there is no other information.

I forgot that this crime report covers only part of Alexandria. I'm not sure where exactly the stabbing occured but I've taken it up with the Alx Police on their new facebook page. My apologies to Drew.

Yes, lots of thugs and hoodlums in Del Ray...
Anyway, you have the right to open and/or concealed carry. Suggest you use it.
