Cheesetique To Open Second Location
Owner Jill Erber also moving forward with dining room expansion at current shop
Cheesetique, one of Del Ray’s destination businesses, will soon have a second location.
Owner Jill Erber confirmed that she has applied for a liquor license in Arlington County and is working to have a second cheese shop and wine bar open in the Village at Shirlington this fall.
Last month’s Village and Shirlington newsletter hinted at Cheesetique’s expansion. The new shop will move into where The Curious Grape is currently located, at 4056 Campbell Avenue in Arlington.
With the Signature Theater and an AMC Lowes Theater nearby, the spot appears to be a fine place to grab customers before or after a stage play or art house flick.
Erber said a need to accommodate customers all over the region prompted her decision to undergo the project.
“My whole team will be a part of this,” Erber said. “I’ll be leaning on my people, who have been so great to me for so long.”
The confirmation of a second location comes at a time when construction has just started on an expanded dining area at the current Cheesetique.
Erber said she hopes the new dining room, which will connect with the current seating area and wrap around the back of HomeMade Pizza Company, will be completed in four weeks.

While I love Cheesetique and am excited to hear of their success and expansion, does anyone know where the Curious Grape is going? I hope not away...big fan and regular of that place, too.

Lacy — From what I understand, the Curious Grape is only leaving its Shirlington location. Ownership has not indicated a new location. They will probably make an announcement later on.

TOO bad-- I am a BIG fan of the Curious Grape. I stopped going to the Cheesetique after one lumbering peon of an employee started following me around with a dirty look on her face.
